Choosing Life: Addressing teen suicide & mental health
(Workshop: 45-75 minutes; Academic Lecture: 2-3 hours)
This is a lecture- or workshop-style presentation, geared towards youth and community workers in a Christian context. It explores the causes and warning signs of teen suicide, provides tools and supports to equip youth workers to help at-risk youth, and cautions against some common pitfalls that caregivers can fall into. This presentation also touches on related mental health topics, such as depression/anxiety and self-harm, and can be expanded to cover them and other critical issues (such as sexual identity or addiction) in more depth.
